Margaret Dukes is a native of Miami Florida where she received her early education. She later married a soldier and mothered 2 sons who made her a proud grandmother of 9 children ranging in ages of 17 to 15 months old. Ms. Dukes is an Alumni of Miami Dade Community College; Clearwater Christian College and Washburn University in Topeka Kansas. She has worked for the Federal Government a total of 20 years to include the United States and Germany.
Ms. Dukes is currently employed by the Veterans Health Administration as a Clinical Social Worker in the Mental Health Services Line providing therapy to veterans with a myriad of psychiatric disorders. She has worked with women and men presenting with a history of Sexual Abuse and Trauma since 1991. First, with Active Duty Soldiers referred to Family Advocacy for Victim Advocate Services and later at the VHA with veterans seeking Trauma-Related therapy. Her approach to meeting with Survivors has been one of compassion and the absolute belief that true healing is possible. Ms. Dukes incorporates spiritual, emotional and physical aspects of the healing process for authentic recovery. The evidence being that one becomes able and compelled to then reach out to others to help them heal authentically.
In addition to being a Therapist, Ms. Dukes is an Ordained Evangelist since 2002 and is currently preaching to diverse audiences when invited in local churches in South Georgia and during the past 5 years annually during April Sexual Assault Awareness Month at the Carl Vinson VA Chapel Services as a collaborative venture between Chaplain Services and the Mental Health Services Line (2014- 2017). During those time frames Ms. Dukes was also the appointed Military Sexual Trauma Services Coordinator for the Carl Vinson VA (Feb 2013-May 2017) prior to stepping down from the position to relocate and be more available for family related matters.
Ms. Dukes’ current passion is for answering the Call of God in her own life to participate in Evangelistic Outreach to churches, individuals; and; Community Based Agencies sharing the message of Jesus Christ in the form of offering hope; love; Personal Empowerment; and; the message of redemption from sin; hurt; and; devastations derived from all sources in life. Her own statement of faith is that God and God alone is able to deliver us and renew us to the Utmost for our wellbeing and His Glory.
